attach a post to the bottom middle of the computer to wedge its bottom out/prevent the top from moving outward. otherwise put in hooks using drywall anchors directly opposite the current hooks on the pc

This guy is so stupid. 1.) wedge or screw a piece of 2x4 behind the bottom half of the computer to make it straight. 2.) you have no space for your legs when your sitting position is so close to the wall. You are truly stupid. Learn some engineering and human factors.
Chris Mast

Easy idea to make it straight: Get some black foam/wood-block, affix it to the wall so the bottom of the case is resting against it and holding the bottom 'out' so things stay straight.

To the wall mounted PC. I would say it easier to keep the PC from that wall than to try bringing the top closer to it. How about you place a stick or something on the bottom of the PC between wall and PC

Instead of trying to use hooks at the top you could use 2 stand offs(correct length) mounted on the bottom corners to give you the correct reveal or horizontal straightness. The stand offs would then rest on the wall.

If you want something to hang really flush with the wall, look for something called Z- Bar or french cleat. Essentially, they are 2 pieces of metal (you can cut them to size). One is nailed to the wall, the other on the object, i.e. PC that need to be on the wall. They interlock and the piece on the back of the PC will slide into the wall piece. Each piece has multiple holes, one or more might be on the stud. Even without studs, the multiple holes will provide enough traction to hold objects up to over 100 lbs securely These are used by art galleries to hang huge pieces of arts, very large heavy mirrors, etc. (I used to be in the business and we used them a lot). You find them at Amazon by the way, PS: The only piece of the puzzle, how to attach the metal piece to the back of your PC, but I am sure you'll find a way. Good Luck Paul

The 8-pin EPS and 8-Pin VGA/PCIe are keyed differently on the component/mobo side. They may be (and usually are) keyed the same on the PSU side. For the most part, those set of 8 pins have same wire gauge/length requirements and same set of pinouts, just in a different order. You should be careful about it. I make custom sleeved cables myself and have a background in electrical engineering.
DougCube
DougCube 12 күн мурун
Some custom cables are too long for the standard gauge. In general, longer cables need thicker gauge. If I had my hands on your custom cables, I would inspect the resistance and connectivity with a multimeter to diagnose the root cause.

I'm wondering why he just didn't use a floating shelf? Even an L-shaped piece of metal would have worked great and the weight capacity would only be limited by the thickness of the metal and anchor strength of the studs he used to go into those metal studs. A monitor mount should have never even been a consideration.

i say go to Home Depot get you some 3M double side tape and a piece of Hi density foam looks to me by the video that it would be 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch thick bring it all home cut your foam and tape and stick it to the back side of the panel and the foam will press against the wal holding the panel flat and no more drilling holes in your walls just before you go buy the stuff measure the distance so you get the right thickness of foam all of that should cost you less than 20 bucks and solve your problem ;)

Worked avionics for cargo planes while in the AF. I can tell you right now, when troubleshooting you're gonna come across random crap all the time. Wiring that likes one unit but not another. Units that like another unit but not another. It never ends what electronics will and will not do when integrated with so much (and computers are this on a smaller scale). Hell even headsets not wanting to work at one station but fine for others. Basically never rule anything out till you've tried it all out.
